Tuesday Tunes - MoZella - The Brian Holland Sessions
While driving down the road last week with Matt, we flipped the station to NPR, our favorite, to discover the most amazing new album out right now. Detroit born singer/songwriter Maureen McDonald, MoZella, teamed up with Brian Holland, the man that brought the world the "Motown Sound" with music from artists such as The Supremes, The Four Tops, and Martha and the Vandals, to create this amazing new album. They wrote and produced the album together, and you would never believe it was just recorded. It sounds like something that was just discovered in a Motown vault.
Mozella is a cross between Amy Winehouse, Diana Ross, with that polished Motown sound. When Brian Holland first contacted her, she didn't think she'd be the one singing until after they started writing together. And the album is flawless! Her voice is so addictive. Check out the album on iTunes. It's definitely worth the $9.99. I'm going to listen to this album on repeat all day while I sew!
