Meow meow! Ima cat!

Had to do it; I just couldn't help myself. I dressed up like a cat on Halloween for work at Stillwater. It's like I'm finally my real self. Hahaha. I found a leopard print tank, leggings, a leopard belt, painted my face, and made from cat ears with felt, hot glue, and a headband. Ta da. Ima cat! Meow meow. Hiss.

For my outfit, I humored myself by looking around Halloween stores full of poorly made one-size-fits-all costumes, hoping I could find a leopard print bodysuit, but to no avail. I found one store that had ONE bodysuit that was polyester, and resembled black shiny leather. It fit well, but had a huge back cutout and I looked wayyy too risqué for where I work. I looked like Britney Spears or something in that video that she wore a one piece leather bodysuit. Ew. Definitely too sexy for work. I already get teased just when I wear my "Women For Obama" shirt and jeans. My general attire is a high waisted skirt, a blouse, and cowboy boots, so my outfit was a variation of that.

Meow. Clem loved her mama looking like a cat! I sent out my weekly videocast yesterday, cat makeup and all (view it here and sign up here). I got so distracted by the cats and Zeus I missed some talking points, by oh well. You should sign up for my newsletter. You get weekly coupon codes and exclusive content! Pretty pretty cool.

My loves. Clementine and Stella have awesome Halloween costumes but I couldn't find Stella's Ladybug outfit, and didn't want to be unfair to Clem, having her the only one in costume. Next year I want to get them top hats from To Scarborough Fair. Their cat hats are the coolest! Maybe next year we'll all be French ladies in berets.

For my makeup, I used this tutorial. I didn't follow it exactly, mostly just the cat eyes and cat mouth.

Hope you all enjoyed your Halloween! What did you dress up as? Stay warm! And yay it's November! I can't wait to start making some pumpkin cheesecakes and walnut bourbon pecan pies for Thanksgiving and fall weather. Recipes to follow!

  1. You look adorable! It's not over the top where you feel completely out of character and are dying to take off your costume by 11 a.m.

I dressed up as Tippi Hedren from "The Birds." I actually posted about it here: http://www.madalynne.com/how-i-wore-it-my-halloween-costume
